The International Medical Assistance (IMA) is a Christian non-profit organization founded by Roberto and Norma Rodriguez in 1998 to provide medical and spiritual assistance to the poorest people of Mexico.

This February (2007) I had the opportunity to participate in the first week of the two-week IMA medical project in Valladolid, Mexico, located on the Yucatan Peninsula. Some 81 volunteers from the United States and 15 from Mexico came together over a two week period to provide medical assistance to the poor of the area, many of whom are Mayans. It was an awesome, life-changing experience for me. Below is a video showing scenes from the first week of the project.

For a complete history of IMA or to see how you can help or participate in a future project, visit the IMA website at www.ima-missions.org.
